    Group Singing

Singing together is where the magic happens!

Watch children step into their light with harmonies, movement, and genuine encouragement.

    THE SINGIT METHOD

    BREATH. BODY. VOICE. MIND.

Four pillars guide everything we do — helping children build confidence from the inside out.

    Breath

The foundation of every voice. We teach children to breathe with intention — calming the nervous system and powering confident, sustained singing.

    Body

Singing is a full-body experience. Through movement and posture, children connect physically to their voice — building awareness, coordination, and freedom of expression.

    Voice

Every child's voice is unique. We help them discover its power — not just as a singing tool, but as a way to express who they are and connect with others.

    Mind

Singing builds neural pathways that support focus, memory, and emotional regulation. We nurture the whole mind — helping children grow resilient, creative, and self-aware.

    WHAT IS SINGIT

    BENEFITS OF SINGING

Singit is a Montessori-inspired programme that uses voice, movement, and music to help children regulate their emotions, build confidence, and feel truly at home in their bodies and in the world.

Built on the science of neuroplasticity and polyvagal theory, every Singit session is a full-body, whole-brain experience. Children don't just learn to sing, they learn to breathe, to feel, to connect, and to cope.

This is especially powerful for children navigating ADHD, autism, sensory differences, anxiety, or the enormous transition from kindergarten into big school.

Singit is led by deeply warm, gently gifted facilitators who bring their own lived experience of sensitivity, resilience, and love to every session.

    Voice as Regulation

Singing directly activates the vagus nerve, the body's calm switch. Every session begins with breath and ends with grounded stillness.

    Movement & the Brain

Bilateral movement, body percussion, and rhythm games build focus, sequencing, and emotional intelligence through play.

    Montessori Roots

Child-led, sensory-rich, and built on intrinsic motivation. Children choose their instrument, their role, their pace.

    THE SCIENCE BEHIND SINGING

WHAT SINGING ACTUALLY DOES TO YOUR BRAIN & BODY

Singing isn't just an art form—it is one of the most powerful natural tools for mental wellbeing and emotional regulation ever studied.

    Quiets Anxiety & Stress

Singing lowers cortisol (stress hormones) and quiets anxiety. Deep, rhythmic breathing activates the vagus nerve, signalling safety to the body and easing nervous tension.

    Boosts Endorphins & Mood

Singing triggers the release of dopamine and oxytocin (happy neurochemicals) that improve mood and create a deep sense of connection.

    Supports Emotional Regulation

Through breath, rhythm, and self-expression, singing gives children a healthy, embodied way to process and regulate big emotions.

    Builds Confidence & Posture

Proper breath control strengthens core muscles and empowers natural self-expression both on and off stage.

"Singing reconnects you with parts of yourself you thought you'd lost, and gives you a beautiful, healthy way to express what's inside."

    — Mia Whitfield, Founder of Singit Inc.

Bringing the joy of SingIt to Harpenden...

Hi, I’m Tash! I have had a lifelong passion for music and have always used it as an outlet when I have been happy, sad, joyful, or just needing a boost.

I have known Mia for over 25 years and am incredibly honoured to be bringing the “SingIt” programme that Mia has developed to the UK for the first time, and I can’t wait to share it with you all right here in Harpenden!

“SingIt is a programme for students, but it’s really about so much more than singing. We use music, movement and singing as a tool to build confidence, self-expression and emotional wellbeing. It gives students a safe, fun space to find their voice, be themselves and feel proud of what they can do.”
